Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, welcomes the completion of the first of four major road improvements in Crowborough.
As part of major improvement work carried out by East Sussex Highways contractors, the old surface on Croft Road was removed, recycled and replaced, improving the road safety and appearance.
The work carried out on Croft Road was a first phase of a major improvement programme which involves extensive maintenance and resurfacing in Crowborough. Resurfacing work has now moved to Whitehill Road before further improvements are made to Eridge Road and Beacon Road.
In addition to road improvements, drainage work will also be carried out in Eridge Road, Sheep Plain, Ghyll Road, Harlequin Lane, Crowborough Hill and St John’s Road as part of the improvement programme.
Nus Ghani said: “Many Wealden constituents have contacted me regarding potholes and local road standards. I am delighted that after I’ve raised the issue with local authorities, the improvement work was able to get underway despite the Covid-19 pandemic and Crowborough can begin benefiting from new road surfaces. The resurfacing will greatly improve road safety, accessibility and overall appearance of the town.”
