125,364 vaccinations have been administered as of 17 January in Sussex and East Surrey Health and Care Partnership.
It’s planned to vaccinate the top four priority groups by mid February, more than 587,000 people have received a vaccine across the South East as part of more than 5 million vaccinations having been administered across the UK, to 4.6 million people.
New vaccination sites are continuing to open around the UK, as part of the plan for everybody to be within 10 miles of a centre. Pharmacy sites in England are starting to deliver vaccines from this week, the first in East Sussex is at Ticehurst Village Hall, being managed by Ticehurst Pharmacy.
Wealden MP Nus Ghani said, “The Covid vaccination programme is the biggest in our country’s history. I am pleased that so many people across Wealden and East Sussex have received the vaccine already and with vaccination sites now available in Uckfield, Crowborough and Hailsham, as well as our nearest hospitals, more Wealden residents will be invited for the jab in the coming days. Vaccines are the best way out of the pandemic, and I will continue working with the Department of Health and our local health authorities to ensure the rollout will cover every corner of Wealden.”
