An MP has been named as one of 100 influential women making an impact in UK politics.
Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald and chairman of ways and means, was selected for the 2026 Women in Westminster: The 100 list compiled by The House Magazine.
The annual list recognises women driving change across the political landscape, including parliamentarians, journalists, civil servants and campaigners.
Ms Ghani said: "I was proud to be selected as part of The House Magazine’s The 100 in 2022, 2023 and 2025 and it is an honour to be selected again this year, alongside so many inspirational women from across many industries.
"The 100 is not just about recognising individuals, but also celebrating the valuable contribution women are making and it has been exciting to see changes and opportunities for women opening up within my own lifetime."
She said: "I am proud to have made history as Wealden’s first female MP, the first MP for Sussex Weald, the first female Muslim Minister to speak at the Commons despatch box and to be the first woman of colour to be elected Chairman of Ways and Means, Madam Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons.
"I hope that my journey will inspire women and girls from working class backgrounds like me to consider jobs they believed were out of reach for them."
