My statement on the fly tipping incident in Hartfield

Fly tipping

I am shocked and appalled to learn that six tonnes of asbestos waste were recently dumped in a country lane in Hartfield.

Asbestos is a dangerous carcinogen that can lead to lung problems if ingested, and the dumping of this harmful waste has posed great danger to local residents.

Fly tipping is a serious criminal offence and this behaviour cannot be tolerated.

I hope that the culprits are found soon and feel the full force of the law.

If you are aware of any information relevant to this incident, please contact the Wealden District Council at 01892 602735 or the Sussex Police at 101.
