BEIS Committee

Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, has welcomed the arrival of a new report from the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee. Titled 'Pre-appointment hearing with the Government’s preferred candidate for the Chair of the Regulatory Policy Committee', the report followed a pre-appointment hearing on Tuesday 9 March with the preferred candidate for the post of Chair of the Regulatory Policy Committee, Mr Stephen Gibson.

The Government announced Mr Stephen Gibson as their preferred candidate for the role on Thursday 4 March and, on the basis of the hearing, the BEIS Committee has endorsed his appointment.

The Regulatory Policy Committee (RPC) is an independent body, sponsored by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. The RPC assesses the quality of evidence and analysis used to inform regulatory proposals set out by government departments.

The report can be read in full here.
