Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has joined many Wealden residents at the Mike Skinner’s Memorial Day held at The Oaks on 7 October. The day included a coffee morning, entertainment, football match, BBQ and karaoke, with all donations proceeding to support Mike's charities.
Nusrat Ghani said: "This is a wonderful tribute to Mike’s lifelong dedication to the town and its many charities.Mike took me under his wing years ago and we would often meet in Uckfield to help residents or the radio station which is now Ashdown Radio. Mike was always kind and generous with his time. I miss him and his bear hugs. Every meeting or coffee with Mike left me feeling more upbeat. Like many who were blessed to meet him, I continue to miss him. What a wonderful legacy to leave behind."
