Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald, has joined her East Sussex colleagues in flying the Sussex flag in Parliament, in celebration of Sussex Day.
Sussex Day, also known as the feast day of the patron saint St Richard of Chichester, takes place every year on 16 June and it is a day to celebrate our beautiful county, its landscape, history, and people.
The date was chosen because it is St Richard's Day, which marks the life of St Richard, Bishop of Chichester from 1245 until his death in 1253.
Nusrat Ghani said: "Happy Sussex Day! We Wunt Be Druv! I’m honoured to represent Sussex Weald in UK House of Commons and fly its flag in UK Parliament. Hope everybody across Sussex Weald, and the rest of the County, has a great day! There are local celebrations in Crowborough this afternoon and in Hailsham over the weekend, so please do come along to celebrate."
