This afternoon, I visited Crowborough Birthing Centre, as I was notified that it had already closed for births, despite the Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust previously confirming October as the closing date.

This situation is unacceptable. The Birthing Centre is a key community asset for pregnant mums, and I continue fighting for its reopening, so that our local mums continue to have the choice they deserve.

My petition has now reached nearly 3,000 signatures, but I need to hear especially from young mums or mums-to-be that were hoping to use the Centre. If you haven’t already, please sign my petition at www.nusghani.org.uk/birthingcentre.

Mums deserve a choice!
