Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, is encouraging local residents to have their say on East Sussex County Council’s Local Transport Plan (LPT) and contribute to the consultation, which is open until 25 February 2024.
The draft East Sussex Local Transport Plan 2024 – 2050, sets out how the County Council will plan and provide transport for residents, businesses and visitors in East Sussex to help them better connect with towns and villages across the region. The strategy focuses on enabling safer and more accessible journeys; decarbonising transport to help achieve net zero targets; maintaining and strengthening transport networks to ensure resilience; supporting a more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable economy.
To find out more and to contribute to the consultation before it closes on 25th February 2024, please go to: www.eastsussex.gov.uk/localtransportplan.
If you would like to share any additional comments with regards to improving our transport network, please feel free to do so via my survey available here: www.nusghani.org.uk/transportsurvey.
Nusrat Ghani said:” Regular, reliable, and affordable public transport is key to our lives in Wealden and I’m constantly pushing for more funding to ensure better infrastructure, reliable services and to improve transport accessibility. I’m pleased to have secured some great successes over the past couple of years, such as the multi-million-pound step free upgrades at Eridge and Crowborough train stations, but I recognise there is more to be done and I continue working with local authorities to secure further improvements to connectivity across Wealden towns and villages. Your views are key to ensuring that the needs of Wealden residents are considered and included in the County Council’s transport strategy, so please do consider contributing to the consultation before it closes on 25th February 2024.”
