On Friday 16th January, Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald, met with representatives from Rotherfield Parish Council and gas company SGN since gas was cut off from around 70 properties in Argos Hill due to third-party damage.
There was a hub set up at the Rotherfield Village Hall where impacted residents and vulnerable customers could drop by and speak to the team, get support and collect items such as heated blankets.
Nusrat Ghani said: "A huge thank you to SGN for their swift response, opening a community customer service centre and for dealing directly with residents. A big thank you also needs to go to the Rotherfield Village Hall and to Rotherfield St Martin for supporting both residents and SGN. A fantastic example of local community coming together in support of one another. SGN have begun restoring gas to properties and hope that this will be completed today (Friday 16th January), and if not, then by tomorrow (Saturday 17th January) at the latest."
