Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald, was honoured to receive the “Ambassadors' 75th Anniversary Award” from Indonesian Ambassador, His Excellency Dr. Desra Percaya.

The “Ambassadors’ 75th Anniversary Awards” is a joint initiative between the Indonesian Embassy London and the British Embassy Jakarta, as part of a series of commemorative events celebrating the 75th anniversary of Indonesia-UK diplomatic relations in 2024, under the theme of People, Planet, Prosperity and Peace.

The first part of the awards took place in Jakarta in December 2024, with 38 Awardees based in Indonesia. This second part is dedicated to 37 friends of Indonesia based in the UK, including parliamentarians, government officials, industry leaders, scholars as well as Indonesian diaspora in the UK.

Nusrat received the award for Prosperity, for her work on strengthening economic ties between the two countries during her time as Minister of State for Industry and Economic Security at the Department for Business and Trade, and Minister of State for the Investment Security Unit at the Cabinet Office.

Nusrat Ghani said: “It was an honour to meet His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Desra Percaya to receive the award for Prosperity as part of the Ambassadors’ 75th Anniversary Awards. The awards are a testament to our two countries’ ever-growing partnership, unwavering friendship and close bilateral cooperation for over seven decades and I was pleased to support further development of our collaboration during my time as Minister of State.”
