Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald, Chairman of Ways & Means and Madam Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, was pleased to join the Parliamentary Chess Club in welcoming their opponents, the She Plays to Win Chess Club to Parliament for a fixture on Monday [23 June 2025] evening.
She Plays To Win is run by the current England International Women's Chess Coach and International Master Lorin D'Costa who has successfully been coaching girls' chess nationally and internationally for over 11 years. You can find more details about them here: https://www.sheplaystowin.co.uk/.
Nusrat Ghani said: "Only around 1 in 10 young chess players are female which makes the work of She Plays To Win even more important. I was delighted to join the UK Parliament Chess Club to make the first move and I looks forward to encouraging girls & women to play and compete in chess competitions. If anybody fancies competing with the Parly team, get in touch!"
