Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has welcomed the Government’s announcement of the next steps in the delivery of their Family Hubs programme. A network of Family Hubs is being rolled out to 75 Local Authority areas, alongside the new ‘Start for Life’ programme, giving families and children the support they need.

Families in Wealden will benefit from some of the very first Family Hubs as East Sussex was selected as one of the 14 council areas to receive funding to rapidly roll out Family Hubs as part of the trailblazer phase of the Family Hubs programme.

Backed by over £301 million, 75 areas will benefit from support over the next two years, with the new hubs offering help for families from conception through to age 19, or up to 25 for children with special education needs and disabilities.

Nusrat Ghani said: “I welcome the announcement of a new Family Hub for East Sussex. It is vital that families living in Wealden and across East Sussex have access to high quality services to support them and their children’s development. The new Family Hubs will see thousands of families across England being offered help and support with issues such as infant feeding and mental health. The facility will also ensure that vulnerable families and young people leaving care can access key support services in one place, helping to make a positive difference within our communities.”
