Parliament’s TikTok account is to be closed with immediate effect, following a campaign by Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden.

The news was confirmed in a letter from the Speakers of both Houses in response to her letter, co-signed by fellow CCP-sanctioned Parliamentarians, urging them to close this recently created account.

Nusrat is most grateful to the Speakers, Sir Lindsay Hoyle & Lord McFall, for standing up for our values and protecting our data.

The next step will now be to establish whether TikTok representatives misled the BEIS Select Committee.
