Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald, has joined the celebrations of Armed Forces Day, which took place on Saturday 28th June.
Armed Forces Day takes place on the last Saturday each June, marking the culmination of a week of celebrations of the British Armed Forces, from currently serving personnel to Service families, veterans and cadets.
As the Chairman of Ways and Means, Madam Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, Nusrat was pleased to also join Mr Speaker for the Armed Forces Day Flag Raising Ceremony to formally start the commemoration of Armed Forces Week.
Nusrat Ghani said: “Our Armed Forces are the ultimate defenders of our security and freedom, and they are respected the world over. Armed Forces Day gives us all a chance to recognise the vital work they do and to convey our gratitude. Every year, I am delighted to join in the celebrations thanking our service personnel for their service and it is always an honour to stand with local veterans and meet local residents who serve our country at home or abroad today.”
