Following her recent meeting with representatives from VodafoneThree, Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald has welcomed plans for further investment into better mobile coverage across the constituency, including at Wadhurst train station.
In May 2025, Vodafone UK and Three UK have merged into a new business, VodafoneThree. Following this merger, it was announced that VodafoneThree will invest £11 billion over the next 8 years, creating one of Europe’s most advanced 5G networks and giving millions of customers and businesses up and down the country an improved mobile experience.
Having discussed these plans with VodafoneThree representatives, Nusrat has welcomed exciting investment plans for Sussex Weald, which include boosting 4G as well as 5G coverage and expanding it into all corners of the constituency.
Separately, Nusrat has been working with VodafoneThree to secure better mobile service coverage at Wadhurst train station, in order to improve passenger experience and safety. Having made representations to major network providers, Nusrat was pleased that as a result, O2 have installed a microcell at the station to boost their coverage, and VodafoneThree have confirmed plans to complete similar upgrades over the coming months.
Nusrat Ghani said: “I was pleased to meet with VodafoneThree to discuss their investment plans for Sussex Weald. The £11 billion investment across the UK will deliver substantial and much-needed connectivity benefits to our communities. The lack of sufficient mobile phone coverage at Wadhurst train station is an issue often raised by local residents and commuters. I’m pleased to have already secured improvements from O2 and I welcome confirmation of similar upgrades to be completed by VodafoneThree over the coming months.”
