Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, was delighted to hear that Artytime, a Crowborough based Community Company run mainly by volunteers, was awarded a grant from the National Lottery Fund.  Artytime has many projects running in the Wealden area, fulfilling their mission of bringing arts and crafts to all ages and abilities.

The award will enable them to run two 6 month pilot projects once lockdown is over. One project is to set up a youth club in the Jarvis Brook area of Crowborough. The club will be youth led, ensuring they have ownership and a voice and will offer broad experiential opportunities as well as a safe space for them to meet.  The second project is to offer art and craft sessions to adults with learning difficulties, encouraging them to mix with other members of the community making, baking and taking things home they have made. Both of these sessions come under Artytime's Creative Communities project.

Nus Ghani said “Jarvis Brook is a tremendous community and Artytime will be a super addition to the area, bringing arts and crafts to younger people. I am pleased that National Lottery funding has been granted to a local organisation and I will continue to campaign for greater lottery funding for communities and charities in Wealden.”

Unfortunately until the lockdown is over both projects are on hold but once lockdown is eased Nus looks forward to seeing Artytime in action.
