Reverend Alan Weaver

I am delighted to announce that Reverend Alan Weaver has been awarded the Wealden Hero Award this week.

Alan is the Vicar at St Michael & All Angels church in Jarvis Brook. He has been the key person for the church community throughout the pandemic. He mobilised a group of volunteers from the church, organised rotas of people to support the vulnerable in the community and delivered PPE and other supplies quickly and efficiently to anyone who was in need. Beautiful soaps kindly donated by the English Soap Company and distributed to local communities by Nus Ghani and her team earlier this year, have been delivered to Alan, who ensured their distribution across Jarvis Brook.

Under current restrictions St Michael & All Angels church is unable to hold our public worship services in their usual format. However, restricted, socially distanced services take place. To find out more, please visit www.stmichaelsjarvisbrook.org.uk.

Volunteers are at the heart of community-led support across Wealden and it is vital that our vulnerable neighbours have familiar faces they can turn to for support. Alan has made an enormous contribution to the Jarvis Brook community and I am delighted to present him with the Wealden Hero Award. Many thanks for all your work throughout the pandemic and beyond.
