Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, has praised the tremendous success of Wealden’s Covid-19 vaccination programme in Parliament and paid tribute to local vaccine heroes.
During today’s Prime Minister’s Questions, Nus praised the fantastic speed of vaccination rollout across Wealden and East Sussex, highlighted contributions of some of those who are key to its success and encouraged the Prime Minister to join her in paying tributes to these individuals.
Nus thanked Adam Doyle for his leadership in securing the Hailsham vaccination sites, and praised local GP teams in Crowborough, Hailsham and Uckfield, especially Charlotte Luck, Practice Manager at The Meads Medical Centre in Uckfield and Dr Susie Padgham, Senior Partner at Saxonbury House surgery in Crowborough.
Nus recently visited Saxonbury House surgery which vaccinates up to 600 people a day to experience first-hand the fantastic work being carried out to vaccinate Wealden residents against coronavirus and thank the medical staff and volunteers.
Nus Ghani said: “The vaccination programme has been a tremendous success in Wealden and Sussex is on track to have delivered 1 million Covid jabs by the end of the week. I am incredibly grateful to our local health leaders, GP teams and volunteers in vaccination hubs in Crowborough, Hailsham and Uckfield who continue to ensure that this lifesaving jab is delivered to Wealden residents. The UK’s success is built on the confidence that people have in this amazing vaccine technology and everyone who has been invited to book an appointment should take up the offer as soon as possible.”
