“Pharmacies are part of the fabric of our high streets"
The team of staff at the Manor Pharmacy in Horam, East Sussex have been recognised by Wealden MP Nusrat Ghani, for their efforts, working tirelessly since the start of the pandemic.
They have received a Wealden Heroes award for providing vital services to Horam communities, delivering medicines to the homes of vulnerable residents and help them stay safe and well.
With the pressure growing on GP practices throughout the Covid crisis, more people have been turning to pharmacies when they needed healthcare advice.
Manor Pharmacy staff have gone above and beyond to remain open throughout the winter lockdowns and under all weather conditions.
Nusrat was accompanied by District Councillors for Horam and Punnetts Town Susan Stedman and Bob Bowdler to present the team with the award.
Nusrat Ghani said: “Pharmacies are part of the fabric of our local high streets and they are essential health and wellbeing assets for the many rural village communities across Wealden.
"Following many nominations from the community, this award reflects how valued the team at Horam’s Manor Pharmacy is by local residents.
"Last year, Horam’s Davies & Sons Butchers were awarded the Wealden Hero Award for providing the community with essential foodstuffs throughout the pandemic and I’m pleased to have returned to Horam again this year to present the award to another fantastic business on Horam high street.”
