Mumsnet

Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has met with representatives of Mumsnet to discuss collaboration on various campaigns to tackle the many inequalities and injustices that women still face today.

Over the last 20 years, Mumsnet has grown into the UK’s largest network for parents, with over 10 million unique users per month. Mumsnet regularly campaigns on issues including improvements in postnatal and miscarriage care, improving parental leave policies and affordability of childcare, and support for victims of domestic violence.

In the last three years, Mumsnet helped 6,000 women out of abusive relationship and Nusrat was keen to discuss collaboration on her ongoing campaign on support for domestic violence victims in Wealden and nationwide. Nusrat also highlighted her work raising the state orchestrated abuse of Uyghur women in Xinjiang, forced sterilisations and a mass campaign of oppression and incarceration of children and adults at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party.

Nusrat Ghani said: “Mumsnet is a crucial source of information for its users all across the country, and I look forward to engaging with them on my campaign regarding stronger support for victims of domestic abuse and violence, and joining forces in raising awareness about the plight of Uyghur women in Xinjiang.”
