In an urgent question, Conservative MP for Wealden Nusrat Ghani asked for a statement on the Uyghur genocide following shocking revelations on the BBC by Professor Adrian Zenz, proving that the internment camps in Xinjiang do exist and operate a shoot to kill Uyghur policy in contravention of the previous statements by the government of the People's Republic of China.

Multiple MPs, including Iain Duncan Smith urged the government to “call out what it is”, and label the process the “Uyghur genocide”.

The Minister for Asia and the Middle East, Amanda Milling explained that she was following the “longstanding policy of successive governments that any judgement relating to genocide is a matter for a competent national or international court” to label something a genocide.
