Art Against Apathy

Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, was delighted to host the Art Against Apathy exhibition to address the ordinariness of genocide and atrocity crimes through art., which took place in Parliament on 7 July 2022.

The exhibition seeks to inspire young people to create art in any form—think photography, music, visual art, spoken word, poetry, etc.

Art pieces were asked to address the theme of apathy in genocide, centred around the following guiding statement:

The immense suffering of the world comes not from the willingness of the bad, but from the unwillingness of the good.

The exhibition was attended by many MPs, activists and Holocaust survivor Dorit Oliver-Wolff.
