Banking Services Survey

I share local residents’ frustrations at the announcement that the Crowborough branch of Lloyds bank is to close in June.

This is particularly bad news for Crowborough as it is the last bank branch on the High Street, following previous closures of Santander and Barclays.

We are a unique, rural constituency and I know from correspondence and conversations with local residents that retaining access to face-to-face assistance with financial matters is still important to many of them.

I have spoken to Crowborough Mayor Cllr Natalie Whittle and I am keen to continue working with her and the local community to ensure that we secure an alternative, walk-in facility for in-person banking services.

I will be reaching out and making representations to Link and Cash Access UK who make assessments, recommend and deliver banking hubs. There is a precedent for a well-functioning facility in Hailsham and I will be stressing to them that we desperately need one in Crowborough.

Please help me evidence that enough people will make use of a Banking Hub in Crowborough and spare a moment to let me know your views so I can make the strongest possible case to Link and Cash Access UK.
