I visited The Llama Park, situated in the beautiful countryside of Wych Cross, to celebrate its reopening.
During the visit, I learnt about the shearing of llamas. The animals are sheared once a year, usually in May. This year, shearing had to be postponed due to the pandemic. I also had the opportunity to learn about the concerns of the owner, Bobby Schuck, regarding the impact of Covid-19 on the business, and regarding the intrusion of the car park earlier this year. In early June, the car park was intruded by dozens of noisy modified cars, resulting in great distress to the animals as well as the owners, staff and neighbours. I have liaised with Wealden Police to find solutions for preventing anti-social behaviour.
