I awarded Tess Flower, owner of the Village Shop in Upper Dicker (click here for more information); Allison Wright, leaseholder of the Laughton Village Shop (click here for more information); and the Patel family, shopkeepers at the Maresfield Village Store (click here for more information), with the Wealden Hero Awards.
Village shops are the hubs of local communities. They are greatly valued by local residents and they were more important than ever during the pandemic. I appreciate the difficulties these shops have faced for the last few months and I cannot thank them enough for their resilience and dedication.
