Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, was delighted to reveal the results of her 2022 Christmas card competition and visit three Wealden schools to congratulate the winner and runners up on their fantastic designs.
Earlier in the autumn, each student at every primary school in Wealden was invited to submit an entry to Nusrat’s Christmas card competition, depicting Christmas in Wealden. Hundreds of entries were received from schools all over the constituency and the winning design has now been revealed.
Nusrat is delighted to announce that the winner of this year’s competition is Joseph (Year 5) from Blackboys Church of England Primary School, who submitted a beautiful design of Winnie the Pooh in a festive Ashdown Forest. The runners up are Bea (Year 6) from Cumnor House Sussex School, and Isla (Year 6) from Nutley Church of England Primary School.
All three designs are featured on Nusrat’s Christmas card which is being delivered to hundreds of residents, businesses, and organisations in Wealden and nationwide, to the British Prime Minister, Members of Parliament and foreign officials including the US President.
Nusrat Ghani said: “A huge thank you to all Wealden pupils who have submitted a festive design and their teachers who took the time to take part with their class. The Christmas card competition has been a highlight of my seasonal activities since its first launch in 2015 and every year, choosing the winner gets more and more difficult. There were so many outstanding creations from our incredibly talented Wealden students, but Joseph’s, Bea’s and Ilsa’s stood out for me. I was delighted to deliver the Christmas card to the Prime Minister and it will now make its way far and wide across Wealden and the rest of the country as well as abroad, and I hope that it will bring all recipients joy and Christmas cheer.”
