Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, is delighted that further funding has been made available to Wealden District Council as part of the Local Restrictions Support Grant and the Additional Restrictions Grant.

After announcing the new lockdown measures, the Government has provided funding to support businesses that are required to close due to the restrictions being put in place.

The Local Restriction Support Grants programme is aimed at supporting any business which has been subjected to lockdown closures and who has a rateable property. The Additional Restrictions Grant is a discretionary grant to help businesses during the lockdown period.

If your business has had to close due to the pandemic and you are in a rated business premises, you should apply for the Local Restrictions Support Grant. Closed businesses without a rated business premises may be eligible under the Additional Restrictions Grant.

Further information, eligibility criteria and application forms are available on the Wealden District Council website here.

Nus Ghani said: “This year has been incredibly hard for Wealden’s small businesses and I am aware of the devastating impact of lockdowns on our local economy.

"Wealden District Council has done a great job in supporting our businesses throughout the spring and summer, and I am delighted that this additional funding has been available to the council to support Wealden’s businesses throughout the second lockdown period. I encourage business owners to check the eligibility criteria of this additional funding and apply for this much needed boost.”
