Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, has welcomed the 'Pick for Britain' initiative, which encourages people to apply for work on UK Fruit and Vegetable farms.
'Pick for Britain' helps bring workers and employers together to ensure the UK can continue to deliver the best quality fruit and vegetables to the nation, with a wide range of roles available from plant husbandry to tractor drivers. GLAA licensed recruitment companies or growers with an employment website of their own can add a link to the 'Pick for Britain' jobs page, but if you are a farm or a small business and need to advertise individual jobs please use the Government's free Find a Job service https://www.gov.uk/advertise-job.
Nus Ghani said "Farms are an integral part of Wealden life and supporting them and championing their cause has always been a priority for me. For any local farmers looking to recruit staff, I hope they will look into the options available through both the Government Find a Job service or the new 'Pick for Britain' website. We also need more men and women to consider working on our farms to keep our food producers getting food to our stores."
