Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, was delighted to personally deliver her Christmas card to the British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and showcase the winning designs from Hailsham, Crowborough and Rotherfield.
Last week, Nusrat was delighted to announce that the winner of this year’s competition, which invited all local primary school pupils to submit a design following the theme Winter Wildlife in Wealden, is Honey (Year 3) from Hawkes Farm Academy in Hailsham, whose colourful design of a robin was the perfect depiction of winter and Christmas time in Wealden. The runners up are Aggie (Year 5) from Rotherfield Primary School and Jack (Year 1) from Ashdown Primary School in Crowborough.
All three designs are featured on Nusrat’s Christmas card which is being delivered to hundreds of residents, businesses, and organisations in Wealden and nationwide, as well as to other Members of Parliament and King Charles III.
Nusrat Ghani said: “Honey, Aggie and Jack are fantastic young artists whose designs stood out for me from the hundreds of entries I received this year. I was delighted to deliver my Christmas card to the Prime Minister and champion their designs which beautifully represent winter in Wealden. A huge thank you to all pupils who have submitted an entry and their teachers who took the time to take part with their class. The card is making its way far and wide across Wealden, the rest of the country and abroad, and I hope that it will bring all recipients joy and Christmas cheer.”
