Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has revealed the winner and runners up of her 2021 Christmas card competition and congratulated them on submitting fantastic festive designs.
Earlier in the autumn, each student at every primary school in Wealden was invited to submit an entry to Nusrat’s Christmas card competition. Entries were received from schools all over the constituency and the winning design has now been revealed.
The winner of this year’s competition is Eva (Year 6) from High Hurstwood Church of England Primary School, whose colourful design of people holding hands around a Christmas tree shows a beautiful symbol of unity and joy. The runners up are: Elsa (Year 6) from St Michael’s Primary School in Withyham, and Oscar (Year 4) from Grovelands Community Primary School in Hailsham.
All three designs are featured on Nusrat’s Christmas card which will be delivered to hundreds of people, both across Wealden and nationwide, including to the Prime Minister and the US President.
Nusrat Ghani said: “Thank you to everyone who has submitted a festive design and thank you to all the teachers who took the time to take part with their class. Every year it gets more and more difficult to choose a winner! There were so many outstanding creations from our incredibly talented Wealden students, but Eva’s, Elsa’s and Oscar’s colourful designs were especially creative and stood out for me. Well done on your fantastic artwork! My Christmas card featuring these designs will now make its way far and wide across Wealden and the rest of the country as well as abroad.”
