Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, welcomed Blackboys CE Primary School to Parliament last week, to give the pupils a first-hand experience of the Palace of Westminster and introduce them to the workings of the British political system.
After an informative tour of the Palace of Westminster and an interactive session on political processes organised by the Parliamentary Education Centre, the young Wealden residents scrutinised the life of MPs and posed insightful questions to Nusrat about her everyday duties as a Member of Parliament and learned about her work on local issues.
Parliamentary tours need to be booked in advance. Click here for more details.
Nusrat Ghani said: “It is fantastic to see Wealden schools being able to visit Parliament again. As always, I was impressed with how up-to-date and relevant the questions from the floor were. The Parliamentary tours and Q&A sessions are great opportunities to get Wealden students interested in the works of our democracy and I’m looking forward to hosting more Wealden school in Parliament this year.“
