Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, was pleased to welcome delegates of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly to London, for a conference of the NATO PA Science & Technology Committee and Economics & Security committee.
The discussions, which involved speeches from UK Secretaries of State, Ministers, leading academics and think tanks inevitably focused on NATO’s response to Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and other NATO partnerships; strategic challenges posed by corruption; emerging disruptive technologies; securing supply lines; climate change and security; and the future of war.
Nusrat Ghani said: "NATO is the cornerstone of our defence, and so it was excellent to meet fellow parliamentarians from NATO countries ahead of the Madrid Summit of NATO leaders, which will be an important opportunity to further upgrade NATO’s defences in Eastern Europe. The NATO Parliamentary Assembly serves as an important forum to promote mutual understanding between parliamentarians from across the Alliance and I am proud to be representing the UK’s concerns and priorities as part of NATO PA."
