Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald, has joined GB News for an interview following the news that in the absence of any action from Wealden District Council, local Community Interest Company Crowborough Shield has launched legal action against the Home Office.
Nusrat Ghani said: "Well done to Crowborough Shield for doing the job of Wealden District Council and taking legal action against the Home Office over their plans to house asylum seekers at Crowborough Training Camp. What excuses will the LibDem and Green WDC chaos coalition spin now for not standing up for residents and taking legal action? There is zero confidence in their leadership and ability to stand up for the community. At my public meeting in November they promised the over 500 people who attended that they would take legal action and they haven’t. Shameful. With the silence at WDC louder than ever, and with tensions locally understandably at an all time high, I have written again to Home Office Minister, Alex Norris, to ask for an update on their plans. Unlike WDC, I will of course update everybody the second I hear back."
