Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald, was honoured to be a guest speaker at an Iftar fundraiser hosted by the British Asian Trust.
More than 350 guests from across the South Asian diaspora attended the annual Iftar hosted by the British Asian Trust, raising over £300,000 for mental health initiatives. The funds will support its mental health programmes in Pakistan and Bangladesh, with a focus on tackling stigma and expanding access to services.
Nusrat Ghani said: "I was honoured to join the British Asian Trust, which was founded in 2007 by His Majesty King Charles, to speak at their annual fundraising Iftar. It was wonderful to come together as a community during this special time of Ramadan to pause and reflect. Thanks to the incredible generosity of so many friends, the fundraiser helped raise over £300,000 in support of women & girls struggling with mental health challenges, homelessness and domestic violence."
