Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald, visited White House Academy in Hailsham to congratulate the staff and leadership team on their latest ungraded Ofsted inspection.

White House Academy is part of the STEP Academy Trust established in 2011. The school, which is currently providing education to 190 children aged 4 to 11, underwent an ungraded Ofsted inspection in May. The subsequent report found the Academy to continues to maintain ‘Good’ standards, highlighting the schools’ inclusive community and the positive learning environment it provides. At the latest graded inspection, the school was graded ‘Good’ overall and ‘Outstanding’ in leadership and management.

Nusrat visited the Academy to meet the Acting Head Teacher Chloe Parks and see first-hand the provision of a safe, high-quality learning environment for children to thrive and develop. Nusrat also met representatives of the school’s Pupil Parliament for a Q&A session on her journey to Parliament and work and duties as Member of Parliament for Sussex Weald and Chairman of Ways and Means, Madam Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons.

Nusrat Ghani said: “White House Academy is a fantastic asset to Hailsham, delivering an inclusive environment where pupils can thrive and be the best version of themselves. I was pleased to hear more about the positive outcome of the school’s latest ungraded inspection, which is a great testament to the hard work of the staff and leadership team and the high standards and expectations they have of the pupils. It was lovely to catch up with representatives of the Pupil Parliament on their priorities for the school and discuss some of the  ins and outs of the processes in the House of Commons Chamber.”
