Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has welcomed the announcement that Post Office outreach services at Horam, Nutley, Chelwood Gate and Danehill have been restored.
Following the closure of the above services, Post Office has continued to work to identify a solution to restore services to the communities. Nusrat has previously successfully fought for three Post Offices that were under threat of closure to remain open and has recently met with representatives from Post Office to advocate for Wealden services.
From 17 October, the postmaster from Windmill Drive Post Office will host the below services at the following locations in Wealden constituency:
- Horam Post Office, Horam Centre, 3 Bank Buildings, High Street, Horam, Heathfield, TN21 0EH. Mondays 9:00 – 12:00.
- Nutley Post Office, Nutley War Memorial Hall, High Street, Nutley, Uckfield, TN22 3NE. Fridays 9:00 – 11:00.
- Chelwood Gate Post Office, Chelwood Gate Village Hall, Beaconsfield Road, Chelwood Gate, Haywards Heath, RH17 7LF. Fridays 11:30 – 13:00.
- Danehill Post Office, Danehill & Chelwood Gate Social Club, Lewes Road, Danehill, Haywards Heath, RH17 7HR. Fridays 13:30 – 15:00.
Nusrat Ghani said: “I am pleased that the outreach services in Horam, Nutley, Chelwood Gate and Danehill have been restored. Post Office services are key in rural constituencies such as Wealden and many people rely on their local branch in order to access important services. I have worked successfully with several communities across Wealden to keep our Post Office branches open and I will continue to fight for Wealden services when further closures are being considered.”
