8 March marks the International Women's Day, a day to commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women. However, on this day, it is also important to consider and challenge some of the barriers and risks faced by women, which ultimately affect their experiences.
Marking the International Women's Day 2022, speakers will discuss the various risks faced by women globally, and especially, the life threatening risks and responses thereto.
Nusrat Ghani said: "I am speaking at "The Many Faces of Women at Risk" session today to highlight the plight of Uyghur, Yazidi, Afghan and refugee women. Women are rarely asked to the top table to help build communities, but are often the first to be targeted and killed in conflict."
