Moths to Flame

Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has visited an art installation at the Crowborough Community Centre raising awareness about the environment.

The exhibition has been inspired by the Glasgow COP26 "Moths to a Flame" installation where thousands of moths have been displayed with messages about the environment. Children from Sir Henry Fermor C of E Primary School, Ashdown Primary School and St. John's C of E Primary School made over 700 decorated moths which are currently displayed at the entrance to the Community Centre.

The project is organised by Sustainable Living in Crowborough and Green Transition Crowborough, which are both environmental initiatives that promote local action in the area to address climate change and provide tips on how individuals can make their daily lives more sustainable.

The moths will stay up in the Community Centre until Monday 6 December.

Nusrat Ghani said: “Each of us has a part to play in ensuring that we pass on a healthy and clean environment to our children. We need commitment from individuals locally and this is a great initiative that engages our young generation in creative conversation about our relationship with nature and environment. If you are in Crowborough, pop in to see this fantastic work local students have accomplished in raising awareness about the environment.”
