Young pupils put their political questions to their MP during a lively careers day.
Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald, visited Cross In Hand CofE primary school to speak with Year 2 students about her role as the local MP as part of the school's careers day.
The visit supported the school's focus on dreams and goals, giving children the chance to learn about different professions and meet inspirational women from their community.
Parents and members of the local community were also invited into school to talk about their jobs.
Ms Ghani said: "It is always encouraging to see our young residents engaging with our democracy and the world around them. I was pleased to visit Cross In Hand primary school to speak to the Year 2 students about my job as the local MP and to hear more about what they would like to do in the future."
During the session, pupils questioned Ms Ghani about her motivations for becoming an MP, how MP elections work, and how those compare to those of electing school councillors.
She said: "There were some very insightful questions from the floor and I very much enjoyed the school councillors telling me all about their ideas for the school."
