Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, is supporting Mount Camphill Community fundraiser to support the renovation of their new Pond House.
The Mount Camphill Community, based in Wadhurst, provides education, cohousing and personal care for young adults aged 16-25 with learning disabilities.
Pond House is a part of a pioneering new model of provision for young people with learning disabilities offering supported, independent, community living for young adults who choose to live outside The Mount’s main campus, but within walking distance to it. The crowdfunding campaign is being launched to help close the gap for their overall fundraising appeal and support the renovation of and fixtures and fittings for the Pond House.
Pond House is a large family house situated in the heart of Wadhurst and it requires extending, improving, refurbishment, new fixtures and fittings, to provide a home for six cohousing tenants along with a co-worker family and two young volunteers who will also live there. If you can, please support the fundraiser here.
Nusrat Ghani said: “The Mount Community is a fantastic asset to Wealden, helping students gain greater independence, create friendships, and equipping them with skills to help them engage in the community outside college life.
"The Pond House will create a beautiful, new home in the heart of Wadhurst and provide a steppingstone for some of Mount’s residents to fuller independent living. If you can, please help them reach their goal and support their fundraiser.”
