Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald, is convening a public community meeting for Crowborough residents to join her to discuss the Home Office's decision to use the Crowborough Army Training Camp to house asylum seekers in the near future, and the powers that Wealden District Council has to object to this decision.

The meeting is for Crowborough residents and will take place on Monday 10th November at Crowborough Community Centre, Pine Grove, TN6 1FE.

Due to limited capacity of the venue, prior registration is compulsory. Details will be checked upon entry and admissions will not be made without prior registration.

There are two sessions available: 18:00-19:00 and 19:15-20:00.

The Wealden District Council leadership (Cllr Rachel Millward and ClIr James Partridge) have been invited, alongside the Crowborough Wealden District Councillors.

If technology permits, Nusrat is  hoping to secure virtual presence of previous Home Office Ministers to give technical advice and share information obtained from other councils who went through the process.

By registering to the following terms and conditions:

  • The meeting is for Crowborough residents.
  • Respecting the speakers and other attendees.
  • Attendees whose behaviour is disruptive or abusive will be removed.
  • Your details will be checked upon entry to the venue. Please bring ID.
  • You will not be admitted to the meeting if you have not registered.
  • Video and audio recordings are not permitted.
