Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald, was delighted to join the Mayor of Hailsham, Cllr Chris Bryant in officially opening a new water refill station provided by Sussex Independent Financial Advisers (SIFA).

Having previously delivered a similar project in Eastbourne, Sussex Independent Financial Advisers have teamed up with Plastic Free Eastbourne to install a new water refill station next to their Hailsham offices for the use of local residents and visitors to the town. Located on the footpath between St Mary's Walk car park and George Street, the water refill station will provide a space for safe drinking water and help create a plastic free and more sustainable environment.

On Friday 17th April, Nusrat joined SIFA’s Principal Adviser Karl Hopper-Young and his team, representatives from Plastic Free Eastbourne and Hailsham Town Mayor Cllr Chris Bryant in cutting the ribbon and celebrating the official opening.

Nusrat Ghani said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sussex Independent Financial Advisers and Plastic Free Eastbourne for completing and maintaining this fantastic project for Hailsham communities and visitors to the town. The new water refill station, located conveniently at the centre of town and made out of plastic from recovered fishing nets from Cornwall, will provide additional access to fresh, free drinking water and help reduce the use of single use plastic bottles. With warmer days of summer ahead of us, I hope that Hailsham residents will appreciate this new addition to the town’s facilities and once again a huge thank you to everyone who has made the delivery of the water station possible.”
