Following an update from central Government on 16 February 2026, the East Sussex County Council Elections are now due to go ahead on Thursday 7 May 2026.
Key dates and deadlines:
- Monday 20 April 2026 - last day to register to vote
- Tuesday 21 April 2026, 5pm:
- last day for receiving your postal vote application
- last day to cancel your postal vote
- last day to change existing proxy arrangements
- Tuesday 28 April 2026, 5pm:
- last day for receiving new proxy vote applications
- last day for receiving your Voter Authority Certificate application
- Thursday 30 April 2026 - the first day to reissue replacement postal votes
- Thursday 7 May 2026 - polls open from 7am to 10pm
