Ghani meets Hailsham House care home to view new Holly House suite
I was recently invited to view new care home facilities in the constituency. Hailsham House is a 117-bed care home in Hailsham, offering a range of care services, including support for dementia patients and palliative care. The existing accommodation is being extended to provide new and improved accommodation in their new Holly House suite, offering an additional 27 en-suite rooms.
I was so pleased to meet with members of the team and view the range of en-suite bedrooms, dining rooms and facilities that will be on offer to new residents. I met with Fiona White, Regional Operations Manager, and Rui Santos, Home Manager, to hear about the new facilities and what it means to people looking for new accommodation.
The care home industry is a highly competitive market, but also one where the resident experience and support package is a primary factor. The team at Hailsham House were proud to showcase their new suite of rooms and talk about the Around the World artwork that enlivens the space.
The suite has well-appointed dining rooms offering home-cooked food and lounges for relaxation and entertainment. There are a range of pet-friendly en-suite bedrooms suited to different needs and requirements. They really have created a home-from-home experience, with self-funded and local authority-funded residents receiving identical care and support packages.
The team took the opportunity to tell me how improvements to public transport services would make it easier for staff and residents to travel around. I’ll be writing to East Sussex County Council to see what they can do to improve access to the local bus network. I look forward to returning when the new suite is accommodating residents.
