I met the first Wealden Heroes, Alison, Maisie and Spencer.
Maisie began sewing face masks for the local community at the beginning of spring. Soon after, she was joined by Alison and together they began making fabric face masks for carers, key workers and volunteers in Crowborough. They became known as the “Sewing Crow-Bees”. Spencer has received an overwhelming amount of nominations for this tremendous effort to organise support across the community. He has been the driving force behind the “Supporting Crowborough” movement, the coronavirus community support group in Crowborough. The group has been coordinating volunteers offering support for the community and helping hundreds of people along the way. For more information, click here.
