Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden has visited the Abergavenny Arms in Frant, to enjoy their Christmas menu and support Wealden’s hospitality sector.

The Abergavenny Arms Hotel was built during the first reign of Henry VI and customers have been able to enjoy drink and food here since 1450. In early 19th century, the establishment became the ‘Abergavenny Arms’ in honour of Lord Abergavenny, who owned the property until 1933. The pub offers a wide range of dishes and beverages and is also available to host private functions.

Abergavenny Arms is open to customers and you can book a table here: www.abergavennyarms.co.uk.

Nus Ghani said: “We are lucky to have so many wonderful pubs in Wealden, who are key for the local economy. They are huge employers in the constituency and offer valuable part-time work opportunities for students and people with caring responsibilities. The Abergavenny Arms is a key hub for the Frant community, and I have greatly enjoyed their Sunday lunch menu. I am pleased that our hospitality sector is able to open and operate under Tier 2 restrictions. As a member of the Covid Recovery Group, I am working to ensure that hospitality businesses abiding by Covid guidelines are not further damaged by Covid restrictions and I will continue to press the Department of Health to listen to our local health experts when reviewing the restrictions and release the pressure on our hospitality sector. Supporting Wealden pubs and campaigning to secure better conditions of the hospitality sector will continue to be a core part of my work in Parliament and I will continue working to ensure that Wealden pubs continue to thrive.”
