Wealden MP Nus Ghani, has been selected as part of The House magazine’s list of 100 women who have achieved excellency in their sector in the world of Westminster.

Nus Ghani said: “I am delighted to be selected as part of the Top 100 most influential women in Westminster. I am proud to represent Wealden as its first female MP and to have made a bit of female history as the first female Muslim Minister to speak at the Commons despatch box.

In 2015 I pledged that if elected, I would work to open up Parliament and encourage the next generation of female campaigners, politicians and leaders. I will continue working to empower women of all backgrounds to take up leadership positions and have their voices heard.”

The House magazine is renowned as an impartial source of Westminster news and insight. The House's annual celebration of the most inspirational and influential women in Westminster includes a list of one hundred exceptional women who are both at the forefront of the country and working tirelessly behind the scenes.

The list includes Parliamentarians, Civil Servants, Journalists, Public Affairs Specialists and Political Commentators, and celebrates the achievements of these women and the valuable role they play in public life.
