Throughout the summer, Wealden MP Nus Ghani has met with heroes from the community.
We’re delighted that our entire team has received a Wealden Hero Award.
The continued running of Uckfield FM relies on our team of volunteers, who have ensured the community has been kept updated during the pandemic.
This follows a previous award for team member Christine Skinner.
Nus Ghani said, “I launched the Wealden Hero Award to celebrate the many acts of kindness and community spirit throughout the crisis. From the overwhelming number of nominations I received, I know that so many people across Wealden have made personal sacrifices and put their own lives at risk to help others. I had the privilege to meet many of these individuals throughout the summer and thank them personally for their dedication and efforts. Our community radio stations are real lifelines to many constituents, and they rightly deserve to be crowned Wealden Heroes as the campaign concludes.
I would like to thank Uckfield FM, Kent and Sussex Courier, Sussex Express and Hailsham FM for helping me spread the message about Wealden Hero Awards and celebrate all these extraordinary individuals in the constituency by sharing their stories via their channels.”
