Nusrat Ghani MP

Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has visited the Arlington Bluebell Walk at Bates Green Farm to celebrate its reopening this spring.

The Bluebell Walk is a long-established family asset managed by John McCutchan with the support of The Bluebell Walk Advisory Group and many local charities. It was his wife, the late Carolyn McCutchan who first came up with the idea of opening Beatons Wood to the public in 1972 and since then, the trail has developed into seven walks over three working farms.

During the very popular circular walk of just under a mile in Beatons Wood you can see spectacular vistas of bluebells established over centuries as well as other unique flora and fauna. The walk is suitable for wheelchair users and there are seats for visitors to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the oak and hornbeam ancient wood.

This spring, the Bluebell Walk is open from 12 April to 19 May. For more information and to book your visit, click here.

Nusrat Ghani said: “Arlington Bluebell Walk is a fantastic local gem hidden in Arlington’s ancient woods, attracting many visitors every year and raising funds for local charities. It was a pleasure meeting John and learning about the rich history of the farm and bluebell walk. The bluebells transform the wood into a magical refuge and calming balm for the mind and spirit, which is just what we all need after a difficult year and so much time spent at home. Support your local business and charities and book a visit to see the bluebells in all their glory! I’m already looking forward to returning next year.”
